Your new job
As our new Business Analyst at Lauritzen Kosan you will report to the CEO. You will undertake a central role working closely with the senior management and freight traders in Copenhagen as well as your colleagues overseas (in Singapore and Manila).
We want analytics to be an integrated part of our business and you to take the initiative in the exchange of market information.
Your responsibilities include:
- Keeping track of gas and petrochemical markets
- Identify and monitor drivers for market trends and fluctuations
- Focusing on customers and competitors behaviour and performance
- Consolidate macroeconomics trends and data analytics
- Projecting trends for rates and prices
- Contribute to management reporting
Your professional and personal qualifications
You are a self starter with strong analytical skills and the ability to keep a broad overview. You must be an experienced communicator and have a natural talent for making your findings and recommendations commercially applicable.
You have three to five years experience from a position focused on analytics, and solid knowledge of statistics. You have strong digital skills and your Excel and PowerPoint skills are above average. You preferably have knowledge of the shipping industry or commodity trading, but it is not a requirement.
Proficiency in English is essential as it is our working language in a multicultural environment with more than 15 different nationalities.
Your educational background is a master's degree within economics, finance or a similar business administration degree.
The shipping industry is characterised as dynamic, highly paced and extremely volatile - your focus will be on the specialized gas carrier market.
