Job Title:                                 Regional Sales Manager (Direct & Distributed Sales) (“RSM”)

Reports to:                             Distributed Sales Manager

Position Summary

The position of Regional Sales Manager for Direct and Distributed Sales is a key role within the Dantec Dynamics Group as it initiates, closes and follows up on sales of complex equipment, both directly and/or via a rep network.  Specifically, the RSM is expected to lead all aspects of local market promotion, sales prospecting (in any direct managed markets), tender responses and successful delivery of Dantec products. The RSM will also be expected to provide technical support and, where needed, on site guidance in all aspects of installation and support of such equipment. 

 

The RSM will report directly to the Global Sales Manager and be expected to work closely with managers, and other colleagues alike, to ensure the desired sales budgets can be met each year.  The RSM will be expected to contribute to business planning and sales forecasting for their region.  Management of the regional CRM information is key responsibility and the RSM is expected to keep entries up to date and current at all times. The RSM is also responsible for accompanying colleagues outside of their region to aid in sales, negotiation and specific tactics for deals as required. 

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Hold Responsibility for budget planning and sales delivery for the regions allocated.
  • Reporting on past, current and predicted performance of the local sales territories.
  • Promoting the Dantec Product line and establishing long lasting relationships with key customers within the industry.
  • Promote the activities of Dantec via social media such as LinkedIn, deliver presentations online or in person and attend conferences and exhibitions as required.
  • Conduct proactive outbound sales prospecting in any directly managed territories of vis reps where applicable.
  • Travel as required to visit customers and/or representatives in the assigned territories.
  • Provide timely information, quotes any other necessary information to the representatives they manage.
  • Arrange and co-ordinate training or reps to successfully, sell, tender for, and support local system sales. 
  • Lead tender responses as required and work with colleagues internationally as needed to compile competitive responses.
  • Provide onsite installation and service support as needed.
  • Nurture and develop colleagues to deliver their best performance possible an develop them professionally.

 

Experience, Skills and Education

  • B.Sc., M.Sc. or PhD in related Engineering discipline.
  • 10 years’ sales experience working for a manufacturer of advanced machinery and equipment, preferably related to laser optics, scientific instrumentation or test and measurement products
  • The RSM needs to be technically capable but also commercial focused with an engineering/physics background. They should  be capable of acquiring the necessary technology understanding of the value propositions of the Dantec Dynamics product range. It is essential that the candidate has a proven record in similar industry with sales responsibility of similar high technology products in same or similar research and development segments. 
  • Demonstrable experience of managing local sales representatives
  • Demonstrable experience of managing sales engineers
  • Proven technical ability to work with complex optical measurement systems and define experimental configurations based on the needs of an application.
  • Strong passion for technology combined with a track history and natural ability to take ownership of his/her area and the business
  • Competitive, results-driven mindset with excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated with a “can do attitude”
  • The ability to structure technical responses to customers requirements and tenders, while still having a focus on the best solution from a commercial perspective for both the customer and Dantec alike.

 

Compensation

  • Base annual salary 

  • Commission plan based on Target revenues
