Student Developer – Electronic Systems

About the Job

We are a forward-thinking company developing a new, innovative product platform in the IoT space. We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Junior Developer to assist in the prototyping and development of a core hardware and firmware system. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in full-stack embedded systems development, from sensor integration to cloud connectivity, within a project that has a real-world impact.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Design, assembly and validation of prototype units for remote sensing operation.
• Develop and test robust software for a IoT platform with live streaming of data.
• Integration and calibration of various environmental sensors working in harsh environments.
• Implement a reliable remote device management and data transmission protocol.
• Build and troubleshoot a power management system for extended field operation.
• Help establish a seamless over-the-air firmware update pipeline.
• Create clear technical documentation for internal development processes.

You will be a part of a broader team with a commercial/analytical focus and will drive the development with some level of independence. This will give you a lot of freedom in the design task and room to experiment/develop your technical skills. 

Your daily work will be from our headquarters in Aalborg, John F. Kennedys Plads 43, with a flexible work environment. Ideally, you are available to work around 16-24 hours per week. It is essential that you take care of your studies, which means we are flexible in exam periods and when facing project deadlines.

Ideally, you enrich our business with the following experience and skills:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Foundational experience with microcontroller programming.
• Proficiency in C/C++ or similar.
• A practical, hands-on aptitude for building and testing electronic prototypes.
• A problem-solving mindset and keen attention to detail.
