Microsoft 365 Systems Engineer

Own the Technical Depth. Drive Real Impact.

Blue Power Partners is a global consultancy and project development company dedicated to accelerating the development of renewable energy. Our seven-person IT team runs the digital infrastructure that enables 300+ colleagues across 15+ countries to focus on what matters - advancing the green transition.

We are hiring a skilled and self-driven Microsoft 365 Systems Engineer to take ownership of the technical core of our platform. This is not a support role. It is an engineering role - the person who holds it will be the primary technical authority on our Microsoft 365 and Azure environment, handling the complex platform work that requires genuine expertise and hands-on command.

Key Responsibilities

You will take full ownership of the technical operations and development of our Microsoft-based platform. Specifically, you will:

  • Manage and continuously improve our Microsoft 365 platform and Azure infrastructure - Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Defender
  • Design and operate our identity and access management framework: conditional access policies, lifecycle flows, group-based access, privileged access controls
  • Build and maintain PowerShell automation that reduces manual work across IT operations and business processes
  • Lead device lifecycle management for Windows, iOS, and Android via Intune - Autopilot provisioning, compliance policies, endpoint security
  • Drive information security initiatives: implementing security controls, managing vulnerability remediation, and responding to incidents
  • Own governance and licensing across a 300-user, multi-entity environment - tracking, optimising, and building visibility for decision-makers
  • Contribute to our information security policy framework and ensure our technical controls align with it
  • Lead incident and change management - coordinate responses to major incidents, own change processes, and drive post-incident improvements
  • Raise the technical capability of the team - mentor colleagues, build shared knowledge, and establish good practices others can follow
  • Act as a technical advisor across the organisation - not just answering questions, but influencing how the business uses technology and shaping IT decisions at a strategic level

What We Are Looking For

You are a senior engineer who is deeply comfortable with Microsoft 365 environments. You take ownership, work independently, and make well-considered technical decisions without needing to be managed at the task level. You can explain what you are doing and why - to both technical colleagues and business stakeholders. And you naturally lift people around you: sharing knowledge, setting standards, and helping the team get better at what it does.

Essential

  • 5+ years of hands-on Microsoft 365 administration - Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Defender
  • Strong PowerShell skills: you automate what should not be done manually, and you maintain what you build
  • Deep familiarity with identity and access management - conditional access, lifecycle automation, privileged access, device compliance
  • Solid grounding in IT security principles and cloud governance in practice, not just in theory
  • Relevant technical education - e.g. Datatekniker (infrastruktur), IT-teknolog, Datamatiker, or equivalent experience
  • Fluent in English - our working language across a global team

A strong plus

  • Experience with Azure infrastructure (networking, Bastion, firewall rules, resource governance)
  • Familiarity with information security frameworks: ISO 27001, NIS2, or NIST
  • Experience in structured ITSM environments
  • Exposure to Power Platform or other Microsoft automation tooling
  • Microsoft certifications: MS-102, SC-300, AZ-104, or similar

Why This Role Is Worth Considering

If you are already good at what you do and not actively looking, here is the honest case:

  • You will be the technical lead on the platform, not one of several generalists. The breadth and complexity of the environment means your expertise will be fully engaged - and valued.
  • You will influence direction. The IT strategy, security roadmap, and platform architecture are actively being shaped. You will have a voice in those decisions.
  • The work is meaningful. We support engineers and analysts enabling the green energy transition across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. IT is not a cost centre here - it is critical infrastructure.
  • The team is structured and professional. We work with clear project management practices, competency frameworks, and quarterly planning. You can expect well-defined priorities and genuine investment in your development.
  • Flexible working within an on-site role. The position is based in Aalborg - on-site collaboration is important, with flexibility for remote days where the work allows.
