Lauritzen Bulkers seeks Head of Global Operations

We are increasing our short term trading activities in the handysize segment and are seeking a Head of Global Operations who can support this goal with the ability to drive the ongoing optimisation of our procedures and keep us at the forefront of digitalisation.

Your professional and personal qualifications
In this role, you will be setting and achieving ambitious goals for yourself and the team to ensure success. Your peers perceive you as knowledgeable in operations overall.

You have a logical and systematic work approach and seek to optimise your team's efforts through constant improvement of procedures and systems. You are used to working with projects and change management.

You have a background from the dry bulk industry, preferably handysize vessels. You have at least 10 years of experience within the shipping industry and you have some years of leadership experience. 

You enjoy motivating, inspiring and working with your team. You are proactive and driven by the goal of optimising operations and processes.

Your new job
As Head of Global Operations you will have overall responsibility for a team of 23 highly dedicated people. They work from three locations in Stamford, Singapore and Copenhagen, respectively; with a deputy manager directly responsible for daily management. You will play a key role in defining as well as following up on development and KPIs for the team. You will report to the CEO of Lauritzen Bulkers.

Other key assignments in this role are:

- An ongoing focus on optimising earnings and increasing efficiency
- Ensuring a balanced workload between the three offices
- Driving and implementing procedures, initiatives and projects inter- and across departments
- Promoting the values of the company, best practices and knowledge sharing
- Working with the CEO and legal department to ensure we use the P&I club(s) that are best suited to our insurance requirements
