Global market leader – Sales Management – Business Development
Do you want to be part of an international company and play a key role by leading all sales and marketing activities in the Belgian branch of the company? We are looking for a General Manager, who will play a pivotal role in the sales, marketing, and commercial business development in the Benelux Market, based in Gent. As the new General Manager, you will lead a professional team and you will report directly to the Director of Sales. You will be part of a global market leading company and experience an ambitious and professional organization, which is characterized by an informal and dynamic work environment with a focus on personal and professional development.
You will play an important role as a member of the European Sales team within the organization. Here you will be an integral part in defining and executing the European sales strategy. Your responsibilities will include management of the company´s P&L accounts and balance sheet as well as preparations of yearly budgets, regular estimates, monthly reporting, local S&OP, and various ad hoc sales & market analyses. You will also be in charge of managing all stakeholders – including key account management, negotiation and preparation of customer agreements, local contact for partners, vendors, and public authorities, and negotiation and preparation of vendor agreements, etc. Furthermore, you will lead and support locally customer/market driven projects and initiatives aimed at increasing group presence, share of wallet, brand awareness, etc. One of your most important responsibilities will be managing and overseeing all aspects related to local taxation, local labour, local organization development H&S, etc. in close coordination with relevant functions in the company and at corporate level. In general, you will have a strong cooperation with relevant functions in Regional HQ and Corporate.
To be successful as a General Manager, you are expected to have a relevant business school education e.g., business administration, business engineering, marketing, MBA, or other relevant disciplines as well as at least 7 years of experience in a sales & business development role with international exposure. Additionally, you have proven international experience in managing complex negotiations, developing new businesses, and achieving sales growth results in a B2B environment. Also, you have proven experience in coordinating and leading a sales team, and you have a good understanding of operational marketing as well as market, competition, and customer dynamics, macrotrends, technical aspects, and supply chain processes. Moreover, you have solid experience working in the field of stakeholder management and networking in an international environment and at a corporate level.
It is an advantage if you have experience with Salesforce, SAP, and MS 365
We expect you to be fluent in English in both oral and written communication, and it is an advantage if you speak Dutch and/or French, German would be beneficial.
