MYP French Language Acquisition Teacher (Secondary School)

As our new MYP French Language Acquisition Teacher, you will guide students across all MYP phase levels (from beginners to intermediate) in developing their language skills, intercultural understanding, and confidence in French. You’ll help learners connect language to real-world contexts while inspiring curiosity, independence, and respect for diverse perspectives.
Full-time, permanent position (100% FTE)
Teaching five French Language Acquisition classes and one advisory group
MYP teaching across multiple phases (beginners to intermediate)
Collaboration with subject teams, coordinators, and the Secondary School leadership

Your responsibilities will include:
Planning and delivering engaging, developmentally appropriate French lessons
Differentiating instruction to support a wide range of language learners
Designing authentic assessments to monitor and support student progress
Collaborating with colleagues on interdisciplinary and vertical curriculum development
Creating a positive, inclusive learning environment aligned with MYP values
Contributing to the advisory programme and wider school life
Required:
A relevant teaching qualification
Strong background in French Language Acquisition
Experience teaching in the MYP framework (or willingness to learn)
Solid teaching experience in language acquisition, ideally including work with MYP learners.
Ability to engage and support diverse learners through inclusive practice
Strong work ethic, flexibility, and a collaborative mindset
Fluency in English (working language at CIS)
Desirable:
Experience teaching across MYP phase levels
IB workshop participation or certification
Familiarity with UDL and MTSS
Familiarity with international and intercultural education
An interest in contributing to the wider life of the school community is considered an asset.
