Assistant Groundsman to F.C. Copenhagen

An exciting opportunity has now arisen to join the Grounds Team at F.C. Copenhagen as a skilled Assistant Groundsman. 

The 38.065 seat Parken Stadium host all F.C. Copenhagen's home matches, national team matches as well as concerts and events. We live by gathering and entertaining people and we work when others are off, and have an ambition to deliver sports, music and experiences in high class.
 

Besides the Parken Stadium, FCK trains at Kjøbenhavns Boldklub facility training ground, where we have 3 hybrid grass pitches. 

F.C. Copenhagen was founded in 1992 as a structure on top of Kjøbenhavns Boldklub and Boldklubben 1903, with Kjøbenhavns Boldklub from 1876 being the oldest club in Continental Europe. 

Responsibility

Reporting to the Head of Grounds, the successful candidate will have an enthusiasm for the industry, ambition to improve themselves, and thrive to present the clubs playing surfaces at Parken Stadium, Training Ground and Turf Farm. 

The job consists of the following main duties:
  

• Tasks to include but not limited to pedestrian and ride-on mowing, line marking, strimming, divoting, aeration and other forms of pitch repair and preparation as well as the surrounding areas.
• Carrying out applications such as fertilizing and spraying safely, effectively and conforming to all legislations.
• To keep accurate records when required after applications or jobs are carried out or when the Head of Grounds instructs them to do so. 
• Liaising with the Head of Grounds and the rest of the team on a daily basis.
• To maintain up-to-date knowledge of the industry.
• The cleaning and maintenance of machinery, hand tools and shed areas maintaining high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping. 
• Maintain professional working standards.
• Liaise with coaching staff to communicate training areas and ensure their needs are met whilst maintaining a good working relationship.
  
  

 Personal and Essential qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
• Excellent time keeping and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a team and using own initiative.
• Willing to work unsociable hours which will include evenings and weekends and have a flexible approach to tasks.
• Full driving licence or ability to travel various locations due to the demands of the role.
• Experience using a variety of pedestrian and tractor mounted machinery. 

 Desirable qualifications but not a requirement

• NVQ Level 3 or working towards.
• Spraying certificates (PA1, PA2, PA6)
• Experience of working on hybrid pitches.
• Experience using SGL pitch lights.

Working hours are 37 hours per week, working 5 days out of 7 on a rota. The successful candidate should have a flexible approach to working hours.

Salary and terms of employment are negotiated individually based on your skills and experience.
