Airflight ApS is a new and fast-growing company on a mission to build the largest drones in the world for the purpose of industrial hoisting - replacing cranes for small operations. Located in Brønderslev, Denmark, the company was established in 2019 by the two owners Mikkel Kærsgaard Sørensen and Travis James Mathers, and today the organization is driven by 12 competent and devoted employees. The team primarily consists of a group of highly skilled technical profiles with backgrounds in engineering and hardware and software development.

Mechanical Engineer

 Drone development – Calculation and simulation – Composite construction

You will get an exciting and innovative role in the development department. Here you will be responsible for the overall mechanical processes connected to the development of the company’s product. You will produce drawings and do calculations to ensure the correct dimensions and functionality of the large drones, and you will handle regular simulation of the mechanical systems used in them. Additionally, you will make sure to make the adjustments necessary to continuously optimize the functional design of the drones.

To be successful in the role we expect you to have a relevant background in mechanical engineering. Moreover, it is crucial to your success in the role that you have multiple years of experience working with the development and simulation of industrial hardware – ideally from one of the following industries: aviation, drones, robotics, or automation control. You are expected to be fluent in English since you will be joining a diverse team with several different nationalities. Furthermore, you must be familiar with mechanical development based on the use of composite material. You have solid experience within FEM and structural calculations in ANSYS and work comfortably with CAD tools.

As a person you are structured, passionate, and self-driven, and you approach your daily tasks with a strong analytical mindset. You have excellent communication skills, and your curious nature makes you an ambitious and innovative engineer as well as a valuable sparring partner to your team members. Furthermore, you are characterised by your ability to handle large amounts of data, while making sure that it is used to ensure the best possible mechanical solutions. At the same time, you are an open-minded, but realistic team player, and you take pride in establishing a positive and well-functioning cooperation across the organisation. You are also business oriented, energetic, and self-disciplined, and your attention to detail and ability to see the broader perspective makes you an asset to the product development.
