Are you our new Deck Officer?

We are always looking for new talents to join our fleet. If you want to join as deck officer onboard one of our vessels, we would be happy to receive your application. 

As two of our vessels are below 3000 GT we are looking for different profiles.

We expect:

• That you hold a Certificate of Competency as one of the below:
  • Certificate as Mate, 1^st Class (STCW II/3 – II/2)
  • Certificate as Mate, 2^nd Class (STCW II/2 – II/1)
  • Certificate as Master (Restricted) (STCW II/2 – II/1) 
  • Certificate as Master (STCW II/2)
  • Including GMDSS (GOC)
• That you hold all necessary STWC certification and can complete a GWO Working at Height course. 
• That you can pass a seafarers medical examination receiving a valid STCW Health Certificate.
• That you have the right it-skills to pass online client inductions, working directly in their systems and to use all it-platforms used by the company.
• That you by example promotes safety and respects all company policies.
• That you are service minded, always ready to assist our clients using the right CAN DO. WILL DO attitude.
• That you are open-minded and eager to learn  as ZITON is a company where we constantly wants to improve our skills and services. 
• That you are a strong team player.

Your job will be:

• To maneuver and navigate the vessel when on duty.
• To ensure the stability, trim and seaworthiness of the vessel as prescribed in company instructions and according to international rules and regulations.
• Loading and unloading operations.
• Voyage planning including keeping track of ECDIS software updates.
• Plan and delegate work for the deck-crew.
• Act/assist as Medical Care Officer.
• Act/assist with security related matters onboard as SSO.
• Act/assist as Health and Safety Officer onboard, and always as the good example.
• Work with our Safety Management System, including Permit to Work System and Risk Assessment.
• Assisting our client and improve the service ZITON are providing.
• Work closely with the Technical Superintendent and Operations Managers on all matters required.
