The Role

Due to our growing portfolio of projects, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Development Manager to lead the development of renewable energy projects. A strong commercial and analytical mindset will be crucial in this role as you manage complex infrastructure projects, drive decision making through a commercial lens while solving complex, technical problems in creative ways.

Your strong leadership experience will be key to get buy-in from your team and the wider project stakeholders to take everyone on a collaborative journey while navigating a high-pressure environment. Previous experience leading internal and external project teams to deliver project milestones across key development workstreams (land, planning & environment, engineering, resource and connection) is essential. 

Our ideal candidate will have solid experience defining and implementing energy project development strategies, negotiating project transaction documents, creating and maintaining project schedules, budgets, managing commercial, regulatory and community stakeholders and reporting performance against schedules and budgets, all to in pursuit of a successful final investment decision. This role requires you to communicate complex business and technical information effectively as we operate within a techno-commercial environment.

Due to the nature of this role, we will require candidates to have strong development management experience within the energy sector, renewable preferred. 

About You

• Relevant engineering bachelor’s or master’s degree essential
• 8+ years of relevant experience in the renewable energy and energy storage industry essential
• Strong commercial and leadership experience essential
• Previous experience in client facing, high pressure roles essential
• Excellent solution-seeking, teamwork, leadership, and communication skills, which extend across all organisational and management levels
• Exposure to and a broad understanding of various engineering disciplines
• An analytic mindset with the ability to identify and summarise complex topics in a structured and concise way
