Cost Estimator Engineer

About the Job: -

  • You will join our team in Chennai that is engaged in the development of wind, solar, energy storage, PtX and PHS projects worldwide.
  • The role as Cost Estimator Engineer requires adaptability and flexibility. You work closely together with the team in Chennai, but you will also have strong ties to the rest of the team worldwide.
  • Definition of the Scope of Work
  • Calculation of possible costs and gains of the different project
  • Collect and analyze data according to a series of useful variables
  • Communicate information about local conditions to organization and project team
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, manage and coordinate all cost estimate related activities.
  • Should have experience in the Technical Review of Project Documents and accustomed with QA/QC processes.
  • Provide the Company with accurate information that will help in organizations and strategic planning

    Major Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Acquire understanding of the customer requirements of the project or program at hand.
  • Responsible for the Project’s Deliverables such as: Reports, Cost Estimates, Layouts. Etc.
  • Select metrics to produce valid estimates
  • Review documents or consult experts to collect all necessary data
  • Analyze data and produce forecasts
  • Perform Risk analysis
  • Analyze labor, material, and time requirements for a project
  • Prepare cost, time- and resource estimates to inform the wider project planning
  • Prepare reports detailing all the costs going into a project
  • Act as a connection between sub-contractors, procurement & design team (architects, engineers, consultants and client)
  • Prepare detailed reports or bids for submission to appropriate parties
  • Input cost data into Company database
  • Notice differences between estimated cost and actual cost
  • Establish and foster relationships to key vendors
  • Demonstrate high safety focus and awareness.


Required Qualifications: 

We value the right match of personal and professional skills and would prefer you to enrich our business with the following proven experience and skills:

  • Certified Professional Estimator CPE / CCP or CCE or other equivalent qualifications (Under Graduate with 6-9 years of experience.
  • Extensive knowledge how processes work, deep understanding of research methodology
  • Deep understanding of data analysis and estimation metrics, very detail oriented, excellent math skills
  • Ability to work independently and well on a team, understand technical drawings and requirements.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Fluency in both written and oral communication in English at Full Professional Proficiency.
