Senior Business-case and strategy Consultant

We are expanding our activities and are currently looking for a colleague with strong commercial and business-case awareness who can comprehend technical and financial data and turn it into decision-making materials to successfully meet our clients' demand for expertise. 

About the Job

As our new Senior Commercial Consultant you will join our Commercial Excellence team, where we work with the world’s leading private equity firms to originate and optimize renewable infrastructure investments. This includes onshore wind, solar PV, batteries, and ptx assets classes. We drive end-to-end work streams across technical and financial functions in and outside our organization to support informed investment decisions in renewable assets.

The team works with leading private equity firms to originate and manage renewable energy investments globally. 

In the role of Senior Commercial Consultant, you will manage internal and client-facing work streams and work as part of an agile environment with a strong can-do, dynamic, and entrepreneurial spirit.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: 

• take end-to-end responsibility for the business case modelling and optimization of the business case for complex renewable energy projects (Power-to-X, hybrid wind & solar, storage projects, bio-ethanol, carbon-capture).
• structure and manage work-streams for maturing and de-risking business case, including working 
• cross-functionally with internal disciplines and third-party service providers. 
• financial modeling of investment sensitivities for renewable asset classes.
• standardize internal work packages and client deliverables and lead team of associates and consultants to successfully deliver on such. 
• prepare and present investment decision material to leadership and clients. 
• conduct and present market research

Our headquarters in Aalborg will be your working place. But we also have an office in Copenhagen. Furthermore, we are a global company with a global mindset, so all our positions require flexibility occasionally.

About You

You are a curious and outgoing individual who uses your passion as the daily fuel to make a difference. You are eager to provide high-quality deliverables with deep analytical thinking and rigour, and on top of that, you are a dedicated team player who values diplomacy. Your ability to build relations and stakeholder management is a key skill set for you and must motivate you.

Being successful in this role depends on your ability to maneuver in an entrepreneurial and performance-driven organization where no two days are the same.

Preferably, we expect you to enrich our business with the following experience and skills:

• +5 years of experience from other consultancies or experience working with private equity funds or extensive commercial experience from the renewable industry.
• Understanding of the energy markets, renewable energy project fundamentals, and experience with structuring key commercial agreements (e.g. PPA offtake agreements). 
• Possess strong analytical skills and can leverage these in our context.
• Have a strong track record with client interaction in a consultancy environment.
• Excellent in the preparation of presentations and decision-making materials 
• Outstanding communicator both with internal and external stakeholders
