Lauritzen Kosan seeks Purchase Manager

The Purchase team of Lauritzen Kosan is seeking a new colleague and we invite you to join us. We are based at the head office in Hellerup, Denmark.

Your professional and personal qualifications
You are the right candidate if you enjoy working in a structured way and have a proactive mindset towards improving working processes. You like to contribute and to shape solutions. You have three to five years' experience within technical purchase.

You are customer-oriented, a good communicator and have a positive approach to problem solving within our multicultural surroundings. For this reason you must be proficient in English as it is our working language.

You like to develop new ideas and can prioritise and follow up on your tasks. You can stay calm and keep on track even “when the sea is rough”. You have good IT-skills with knowledge of Windows and Office 365 - and preferably Excel to an experienced level.

Our ideal candidate has worked within the maritime industry, but this is not essential. If required - we will provide the necessary training.

Your new job
You will report to the Head of Purchase and undertake a central role, working in close cooperation with the Vessel Managers and crew on board our vessels ensuring delivery on time.  

You will have overall responsibility for purchasing and delivery of spares and equipment for a number of vessels sailing worldwide.

Key assignments include:

- Purchase of equipment and spares to a number of vessels, including follow-up on ordered deliveries

- Logistical planning and shipment of supplies to the vessels

- Negotiation with suppliers both in the daily work but also in connection with contracts and frame agreements

- Optimisation of working processes and participation in standardisation of goods

- Category responsible

- Participation in purchase related projects – depending on your qualifications

There may be some minor travel activity to visit vendors and participate in exhibitions. 

Working hours are 37 per week, however mutual flexibility is important as the dynamic and demanding shipping industry never sleeps.
